CARNIVAL DESTINY FACTS

Description Carnival Cruise Line’s first Destiny class cruise ship was Carnival Destiny which was subsequently followed by five others. This ship is 272 meters long and weights in at around 100,000 with cruising speed of 22.5 knots. Carnival Destiny was upgraded with a huge LED screen called the Carnival’s Seaside Theater to host shows, entertainment and games. This vessel can carry up to 2500 passengers providing a spectrum of entertainment choices from classical music, concerts, art auctions, ballroom dancing, after-hours night club, slot machines etc. The cruise ship also has entertainment and fun activities for toddlers, youngsters and adults. The ship cruise has two main atriums including the Rotunda which is almost three decks high.
Destinations Carnival Destiny has two major trips one to the Eastern Caribbean and the other to the Western Caribbean. Both trips begin the journey from Miami, Florida featuring ports such as Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay, Nassau, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Jamaica and Miami, Florida.
History Carnival Destiny was launched in 1996 and was built in Italy at Fincantieri shipyard. In September 2008 she was re-launched after renovation and now provides her passengers with a whole new Destiny class experience.
Dining Dining options can vary from formal black tie dinners to casual New York style deli. The two huge dining rooms on the cruise are Galaxy and Universe dining rooms. The cruise also has a Trattoria with a grand buffet and a Sun &Sea restaurant. The list of bars on the cruise includes Flagship bar, All star sports bar, Destiny’s bar, Cheese wine bar, Apollo bar and Solar bar. Other eating places include a grill and pizzeria.
Entertainment Carnival’s Destiny class cruise has a wide range of entertainment options including Carnival’s Seaside Theater, a Down beat dance club, pools and water slides to keep adults and kids entertained, and the clubs for tiny tots, kids and teens are Circle C, Camp carnival and Club O2. The cruise also has a Virtual gaming room for all ages.
The Sky, Sun and Spa decks are dedicated with facilities like Carnival Spa, Aerobics centre, gym, Sauna and Steam and for the passengers who like to get a cardio work out can use the jogging track as well. The cruise also has a Mini golf court, a Golf pro simulator and a basket ball court, and at times tournaments are also organized on the cruise.
Cabins Carnival Destiny now includes nearly 500 cabins and staterooms. Guests can choose from a 300 sq ft room with a balcony or a 195 sq ft inside room. The Penthouse suite is nearly 300 sq ft and an extra 85 sq ft for an open private balcony and this can accommodate up to four family members.
The next in line are the Suites at 275 sq ft with a balcony space of 65 sq ft that can sleep three guests. The cruise’s Ocean view staterooms and interior staterooms are about 185 sq ft.
