CARNIVAL ELATION FACTS

Description The Carnival Elation cruise ship is the seventh of the eight Fantasy class ships in the Carnival Cruise Lines fleet. This ship carries 2052 passengers, and weighs 70,367 tons with cruising speed of 21 knots. Elation has been fitted out with some of the Carnival "Evolutions of Fun" upgrades including the adults-only Serenity area. Central public areas of the ship are the six deck high Plaza Atrium and the Elation Atrium. The eight Fantasy class ships are Carnival Fantasy (1990), Carnival Ecstasy (1991), Carnival Sensation (1993), Carnival Fascination (1994), Carnival Imagination (1995), Carnival Inspiration (1996), Carnival Elation (1998), Carnival Paradise (1998).
Destinations The Carnival Elation cruises the Western Caribbean from Mobile, Alabama with ports of call at :Cozumel, Mexico and Calica
History The Carnival Elation, built at Kvaerner Masa-Yards, in Finland, had its maiden voyage in 1998. The cruise ship has its interiors designed by the famous architect Joe Farcus. Farcus used a “Literary theme” to decorate the cruise’s interiors. It is also the first ship in the fleet to have the Azipod propulsion system to enhance the ship’s maneuverability.
Dining There are host of dining options on the Elation, including the Imagination and Inspiration dining room, Sushi bar, a musical café, a Mongolian Rotisserie restaurant, a dessert station, a deli and a salad bar, Tiffany’s Lido restaurant and Duke’s piano bar.
Entertainment Entertainment facilities include the huge Mikado and Cole Porter Club lounge, the adults only Serenity pool area, a Jekyll & Hyde dance club, Casablanca Casino and Gatsby’s Great Cigar bar. The kids can choose from hanging out at the pool or at Club O2, Circle C and Camp Carnival.
The Carnival spa is located on the Sports deck. The deck also has a massage room, a relaxation room, a steam, a sauna, a gym and an aerobics centre. The sun deck has the jogging or walking track along with a mini golf course. Other sporting include a basket ball and volleyball court..
Cabins The Carnival Elation has more than a thousand standard cabins and suites. The twenty eight suites which are at nearly 400 sq ft also include a private balcony. These suites are well equipped and ccommodate 3 to 4 guests. They also have nearly twenty semi-luxury suites that are smaller in size. The standard cabins (Oceanview cabins, Obstructed view cabins, inside cabins) are smaller in size (about 186 sq ft ).
