Description Carnival Fascination is a Fantasy class cruise ship and part of the Carnival Cruise Lines fleet. A key feature of the ship is the six deck atrium, with lobby and a bar. The ship was recently upgraded as part of the Carnival Cruise Line’s ‘Evolutions of Fun’ program which included the Carnival Water works area for children and ‘Serenity’, a separate area just for adults.
Destinations The Carnival Fascination cruises to the Bahamas departing from Jacksonville to the Bahamas and back. Ports of call featured are Jacksonville and Key West in Florida, Half Moon Cay, Freeport, Grand Bahamas Island, and Nassau in the Bahamas.
History Carnival Fascination was built at the Kvaerner Masa-Yards in Helsinki, Finland in 1994. She is the fourth of the eight Fantasy class ships from Carnival Cruise Line. In 2010, the Fascination was refurbished in dry dock.
Dining Fascination’s list of dining options includes casual to free style dining. The two main dining rooms are Imagination and Sensation. Coconut Grove Bar and Grill tropical cuisine has tables made of bamboo and chairs are shaped like a fan. There is also a sushi bar, a Pizza place, poolside snack bar, cafes (Café on the way, Bogart’s Café). There are also a number of lounges and bars such as Puttin’ on the Ritz, Passage to India, the ’88 Piano Bar and the Star bar.
Entertainment Entertainment options on the Fascination include the Casino Royale with Black Jack and over 170 slot machines, a Diamonds are forever dance club and Palace Lounge with a variety of shows like movies, dance shows, musicals, and others.
For kids and the teens, the cruise ship has fun activities such as Camp Carnival, Circle ‘C’ and Club O2. The Sports deck that includes the Spa Carnival, gym, aerobics, massage rooms, steam room, a sauna, a relaxation room, and a jogging track. There is a 9-hole miniature golf course and a basketball court on board too.
Other facilities include a library, duty free shops, jewelry store, internet café, art and photo gallery.
Cabins On the Upper and Verandah deck, the most expensive and luxurious suites are present with rooms as large as 400 sq ft inclusive of an open, yet private, balcony space. Various suites are available including Extended Balcony grand suite, Grand suite, Ocean View suite and Obstructed view suite. The Balcony options that are on the Main, Upper and Empress Decks at nearly 200 sq ft. The standard cabins include Ocean view and the Interior staterooms with space of less than 200 sq ft.
