Description The Carnival Imagination is one of the Fantasy class ships operated by Carnival cruise line. The ship has gross tonnage: 70,367 and is 855 feet long with a beam of 103 feet. With 9-hole mini golf course, Carnival WaterWorks water park, a tropical resort-style pool, and fine dining options, Carnival Imagination offers an excellent Caribbean cruising experience.
Destinations Carnival Imagination’s cruises, are either a three day or a five day round trip, either to the Bahamas or to the Caribbean. The three-day trip to the Bahamas departs from Miami and features only the port of Nassau in the Bahamas. The Caribbean cruise too departs from the port of Miami and features ports such as Key West, Cozumel and Mexico.
History Carnival Imagination was built at Kvaerner Masa-Yards at the Helsinki shipyard and began its operations in 1995. In 2008, Carnival cruise line decided to give it a new look and nearly $40 million was given for Carnival Imagination to be renovated. A 300 ft multi water slide was introduced on the ship. The huge Atrium that was the center of the cruise was also replaced and now, it has a bar installed.
Dining The two main dining rooms on the cruise are the Pride dining room and the Spirit dining room. The other dining options include Mirage piano bar, Dream bar, Mongolian Rotisserie Grille, Horizon bar & Grill and Vittorio's café. Carnival imagination also has a New York style Deli, pizzeria, salad bar and a Sushi bar.
Entertainment The ship has a range of activities for children; Camp Carnival caters for the younger children (ages 2-11), Circle C for 12-14 year olds and Club O2 for teenagers aged 15-17. Another attraction on the cruise is the Carnival waterworks that has a pool for the kids and a Serenity pool for adults only. The Illusion dance club, Xanadu lounge, Dynasty lounge, Shangri-La lounge and the Pinnacle Cigar Club keep guests entertained while at sea. The Video Arcade has indoor computer games. Carnival Imagination has two decks dedicated to sport and wellness - the Spa deck and the Sports deck. The Spa deck features spa, a gym, an aerobics center, massage room, relaxation room, sauna and a steam room. The Sports deck has a volley ball court, a basket ball court and a 9-hole mini golf course.
Other facilities include the English style ‘Curiosity Library’, the art and photo gallery, the internet café and Carnival Imagination’s duty free fun shops. The cruise also has a conference room, and a helpdesk for shore excursions and guest services.
Cabins The cabins on Carnival Imagination are broadly classified into four groups based on the level of comforts, options and the size of the rooms. The four types of cabins available on the ship are the Grand suite, the Suite, The Ocean view cabins and the Interior cabins.
