CARNIVAL SENSATION FACTS

Description
Carnival Sensation is Carnival cruise line’s third Fantasy-class ship. The ship's interior was designed by Joe Farcus who included purple as a dominating hue throughout the vessel. The horseshoe-shaped atrium is one of the focal points of the cruise ship which offers a host of fine dining and entertainment for all its guests.
Destinations
Carnival Sensation sails on short cruises to the Bahamas. The cruise departs from the port of Canaveral in Florida and cruises to the port of Nassau in the Bahamas and then returns home to Florida.
History
Carnival Sensation was built at the Kvaerner Masa-Yards in Helsinki, Finland, in 1993. The ship was renovated a few years later as part of the Carnival’s $250 million fun ships renovation, that revamped and upgraded the ship to modern standards. The ship was one of the cruise ships used by the US government to provide refuge to the survivors and the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The movie ‘The case of the Mystery Cruise’ in 1995, starring the famous twins Mary Kate and Ashley featured the Carnival Sensation.
Dining
The dining options on Carnival Sensation makes for fine dining at the Sea view bar and grill, Ecstasy dining room, Mongolian Rotisserie grill, Sushi bar, Touch of class piano bar and The Patisserie. Other options include a New York style deli, salad bar, pool side snack bar, pizzeria and a Joe’s café.
Entertainment
Entertainment facilities includes lounges such as Fantasia Main Lounge, Michael Angelo Lounge, Polo Cigar Lounge and Plaza Lounge. They also have a Club Vegas Casino, Resort style pool and Serenity, a pool just the adults. Entertainment for teens and children on the cruise include Carnival waterworks, Video Arcade, Circle C and Camp Carnival.
Carnival Sensation includes sport activities such as basket ball, volley ball and also a mini golf course. Other options include Sensation’s gym, aerobics center and even a jogging track. For those interested in relaxation therapy and massages, there is the Spa deck that has the Spa Carnival, massage and relaxation rooms, a steam and a sauna.
Cabins
The accommodation on Carnival Sensation caters for a range of budgets. The Ocean view and Balcony rooms staterooms sleep up to three guests. Inside staterooms cater for those on a lower budget. At the top of the range are the Penthouse and the Suites with private sitting area, dining, private bathroom and many amenities.
