Description Celebrity Mercury left Celebrity Cruises in February 2011 to join TUI Cruises fleet, sailing under the name of Mein Schiff 2. Celebrity Mercury was built as a Celebrity class ship, and sister ship to Celebrity Century and, Celebrity Galaxy.
Destinations Celebrity Mercury cruised to the Caribbean islands, the Bahamas, Alaska and the Panama Canal.
History Celebrity Mercury was built in 1997 at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. This Celebrity cruise line ship was inaugurated by her godmother Patricia Barrett Carpenter.
Dining Celebrity Mercury had limited dining options when compared to some of the other ships in the Celebrity fleet. Dining included the Champagne bar, the Manhattan restaurant, the Cova Café, a Rendezvous bar, a Martini bar, the Michael’s club, a Sea side grill, a Sky bar and Palm Springs Café, bar and grill.
Entertainment Entertainment included Celebrity theater, Fortunes Casino, Rendezvous bar, Pavilion Night Club, La Playa Pool, Palm Springs Pool, with children's entertainment at Ship Mates, Fun Factory, Children’s Pool, Navigator’s club, Teenager room or the Video Games hub.
Relaxation included the Aqua Spa, Etruscan Chamber, Sauna, Steam, hair salon, therapy and treatment rooms. Sports activities included gym, aerobics center, basket ball court, jogging track.
Cabins Celebrity Mercury offered Penthouse suites sized at 1300 sq ft, Royal suites sized at 650 sq ft and Sky Suites sized at 350 sq ft. Cabins included balcony Celebrity Concierge Class cabins sized at 250 sq ft, Sunset Verandah Staterooms and Premium Ocean view with Verandah cabins sized at 250 sq ft. There were also Ocean view Staterooms and Inside Staterooms.
