BOUDICCA FACTS

Description MV Boudicca is a cruise ship owned by Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines. The ship was built in Finland and has changed hands numerous times since entering service in 1973. She is based in Liverpool, England, and has replaced the MV Black Prince. The ship was refitted in 2011 with additional passenger cabins added, as well as anew gymnasium. The British themed ship carries about 800 passengers.
History Boudicca was built at the Wärtsilä Hietalahti shipyard in Helsinki, Finland. She commenced service in 1973 as Royal Viking Sky for the Royal Viking Line. She is sister ship to the Royal Viking Star and Royal Viking Sea. The ship was lengthened from 177.7 metres to 205.5 metres in 1982. The ship was transferred to Norwegian Cruise Line in 1991 and sailed as Sunward until 1992 when she was sold to Birka Cruises. Her service with Birka Cruises was short lived, and after a season sailing as Birka Queen, she was chartered back to Norwegian Cruise Line later in 1992 and renamed back to Sunward. In 1992 she was chartered to Princess Cruises and sailed as the Golden Princess until 1997, when Birka Cruises sold the ship to Star Cruises. she sailed for Star Cruises as the SuperStar Capricorn until 2004, when she was sold to Spanish company Iberojet, who put her into service as Grand Latino. Fred. Olsen bought the ship in 2006 and renamed her Boudicca.
Dining Dining options include the oriental-styled Secret Garden Cafe, the Tintagel restaurant, the Four Seasons restaurant and the poolside buffet.
Entertainment Entertainment facilities include the Neptune Lounge (the main show venue offering shows, reviews and cabaret), Marquee Bar, Lido lounge, casino, card room and library. Sports and recreation facilities include fitness centre, gymnasium, golf nets, sauna, jacuzzis, exercise pool, swimming pool, circular pool on Marquee Deck
Cabins There are a total of 463 cabins. Accommodation options include inside cabins, outside cabins, balcony cabins, suites. There are also wheelchair accessible outside cabins with facilities for persons with a disability.
