Description MS Hanseatic is a an expedition cruise ship owned and operated by Hapag-Lloyd Cruises. The five star rated ship carries 184 guest in luxury. The ship, like the MS Bremen from the same fleet, is rated E4 ice class, the highest ice class rating for a passenger ship. this allows Hanseatic to power through broken ice and can even break through solid ice up to half a metre thick if necessary. for shore excursions, the ship carries 14 inflatable Zodiacs. History Hanseatic was built at Rauma Repola shipyard in Finland. She was originally named the Society Adventurer, and later renamed to Hanseatic when she was bought by Hanseatic Tours. Hapag-Lloyd acquired Hanseatic Tours in 1997.
Dining Dining options include buffet and a la carte dining. Restaurants include the Bistro Lemaire and the Marco Polo Restaurant.
Entertainment There are a number of lounges and bars include the Observation Lounge, Explorer Lounge and the Bistro Lemaire. Other recreation facilities include sun deck, freshwater pool, pool bar, Whirlpool, sauna, fitness room, library hairdressing and beauty salon. There are also bicycles and snorkelling gear available for shore excursions.
Cabins The ship has 88 cabins and 4 suites. The cabins are spacious with ocean view, some with panoramic windows, and some with more traditional port holes.
