NORWEGIAN JEWEL FACTS

Description Norwegian Jewel is the first of Norwegian Cruise Line's (NCL) four Jewel Class ships. She is sister ship to Norwegian Jade, Norwegian Pearl, and Norwegian Gem. Each ship has unique amenities, but has a similar exterior and interior design. This Jewel class cruise, weighing 92,000 tons, travelling at a speed of 25 knots at sea provides sixteen different restaurants on board.
Destinations Norwegian Jewel cruises Europe, Canada and New England, and the Caribbean. She also sails Transatlantic cruise from New York to Southampton.
History The Norwegian cruise built by Meyer Werft in Germany was named ‘Norwegian Jewel’ at Miami port in 2005. She was featured on Donald Trump’s show, ‘The Apprentice’ just after her launch. During the episode, the contestants were asked to make a 30-second advertisement featuring the Jewel.
Dining Keeping up with the trend of ‘Free-Style’ dining of the Norwegian Cruises, the Jewel also inculcates this concept on board and yet provides a lot to choose from on the voyage. Some of its famous restaurants are: Le Bistro, Chin –Chin which is an Asian Restaurant, Tango’s Tapas Bar, Spin maker bar and restaurant, a Steak house, The Blue Lagoon and Mama’s Kitchen.
Entertainment Entertainment includes the Stardust Theatre, Jewel Club casino, Karaoke club and a gaming centre. Passengers can also enjoy the Bora-Bora Spa and salon and for those who prefer a good workout during their trip can use the gym at the Body waves fitness centre. People who love outdoor games and activities can opt to play basket ball, volley ball or try some golf.
Cabins Cabin accommodation includes Balcony staterooms, Ocean view rooms and inside staterooms. For sheer luxury and privacy, the Norwegian Jewel provides spacious villas on board which feature a living room, dining room and a huge bath. The various accommodations in the luxury range are Courtyard villas, Garden villas, Owner’s suite, Romance suite and Penthouse suite. Each of them is well furnished, spacious and has a private balcony with a complete view of the ocean.
