NORWEGIAN SPIRIT FACTS

Description The Norwegian Spirit that was built at the Meyer Werft ship yards, Papenburg, Germany in 1998. She began operations as part of the Star Cruises fleet. In 2004 this ship joined the Norwegian Cruise Line. This ship weighs in at around 77,0000 gross tons and is about 268m long.
Destinations The Norwegian Sprit cruises to destinations such as Bermuda, the Caribbean islands ,Canada and New England.
History Norwegian Spirit was originally built for Star cruises and was named Super Star Leo. It was constructed by Meyer Werftship yards in Germany in 1998, and was based in Hong Kong for almost five years. Super Star Leo was renamed as Norwegian Spirit in 2004 when she began service as a part of the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet.
Dining Norwegian Spirit provides free style dining with a host of restaurants with varied cuisines like Raffles Court and Terrace, Shogun Asian Restaurant, Le Bistro, Teppanyaki, Steak House, Sushi bar, Blue Lagoon Café, Maharani’s Lounge and Nightclub, Bier Garden grill, Champagne bar etc.
Entertainment There are a variety of entertainment options for both adults and children, giving them choices like the Buccaneer’s wet and wild pool for the kids and Maharaja’s Casino. The Stardust Theatre, a Charlie’s child care centre, Video gaming room, Karaoke room and a Celebrity teen disco are also part of the entertainment options provided on board the cruise. For those passengers on the cruise who like to be pampered and want to rejuvenate themselves can make use of the Roman Spa and fitness centre. There are hot tubs also available on the cruise, in addition to a jogging or walking track. People who like outdoor sports can make use of the golf driving net, the basket ball or the volleyball court.
Cabins The cabins on the Norwegian Spirit include inside staterooms, outside staterooms, balcony staterooms and suites. On the Spirit there are approximately 300 cabins that are interconnected, an option that is best suited when one travels with a huge family. There more than 5 suites and more than ten Penthouses.
