ARCADIA FACTS

Description
The MS Arcadia cruise ship is the second largest liner in the P&O Cruises fleet. She was launched in 2005. Arcadia is an adults-only ship and is positioned as a "classic cruising experience". The ship caters for weddings (the captain is registered to marry couples at sea. The ship's Viceroy Room can be used as a wedding chapel, and wedding packages are available including the ceremony, photographer, flowers and reception. Arcadia has also introduced the "New Horizons" for special interest groups on topics such as life coaching, health and nutrition, personal development.

Destinations
She sails from Southampton in England. Over 120 P&O cruises depart from the port every year. P&O also offers chartered air departures from London Gatwick and Manchester for all their Caribbean fly-cruises

History
Arcadia was built in 2005 at Fincantieri in Porto Maghera, Italy. She was originally allocated to the Cunard Line and was to become the Queen Victoria, but was transferred to the P&O Cruises fleet before launch. Arcadia underwent a refit in December 2008 at a German shipyard. The refit included refurbishment of some public areas, as well as the addition of 34 new cabins at the rear of the ship.

Entertainment
The Arcadia has eleven passenger decks and a three deck atrium. There are 14 bars, main restaurant on two levels, two additional restaurants, 24-hour food court, poolside grill and coffee bar. The ship has two swimming pools (one outdoor and one indoor) and seven jacuzzis.

Entertainment includes a three-tier theatre, cabaret lounge, casino, nightclub, library, observation lounge, cinema, internet access, spa and hair salon, relaxation lounge and art gallery. Access includes 14 passenger lifts, including two glass lifts on each side of the ship exterior.

There are a number of different types of accommodation on offer including inside staterooms, outside staterooms, deluxe balcony staterooms, mini-suites and suites.
