In May 2008 MS Holiday Dream was tranferred from Pullmantur Cruises to the fleet of CDF Croisières de France and renamed Bleu de France. This photo shows MS Holiday Dream photographed in April 2007.

SAGA SAPPHIRE FACTS

Description
Saga Sapphire is a cruise ship owned by the Saga Group. The ship was overhauled at Fincantieri of Italy in late 2011 early 2012 before joining the Saga fleet, with mechanical maintenance, repainting and refurbishment of the interior to cater for the Saga target demographic of passengers over 50 years of age.

History
Saga Sapphire was built by Bremer Vulkan, Germany and completed in 1981. The ship originally entered service as Europa for Hapag-Lloyd in 1981 and cruised the world for 18 years before being sold to Star Cruises in 1999. After rebuilding, she commenced service for Star Cruises as SuperStar Europe, and a few months was renamed Superstar Aries in early 2000.She was sold to Pullmantur Cruises in 2004, where she sailed as Holiday Dream, and operated Caribbean cruises catering for mainly Spanish-speaking passengers. The ship changed hands (and name) again in 2008 and underwent an extensive refit in Barcelona by the Finnish company MML Shipbuilding, before commencing service for CDF Croisières de France under the name of Bleu de France. she was sold to Saga Cruises in 2011, and joined the Saga fleet in 2012.
