ANTIGUA FACTS

Description The Antigua is a tall ship operated by the Tall Ship Company. She is a 49.5 metre long three masted barkentine with sail area of 750 square metres. Antigua is available for day charters and can accommodate 95 guests, with cabin accommodation for 32. Guests can join inn the activities of sailing the ship, or just sit on deck enjoying the experience of being on a traditional sailing ship. The Tall Ship Company has a fleet of five tall ships, Antigua (barkentine), Artemis (barque), Atlantis (barkentine), Elizabeth (clipper) and Mare Frisium (schooner).
Destinations Antigua sails on various journeys including windjammer parades, races, and expeditions. She to various parts of the world, including the Baltic Sea, the North Sea, the northern Arctic Sea. One of the highlights is a cruise to Spitsbergen, north of Norway about 1000 km from the North Pole. The ship can also be booked for charter trips.
History The Antigua was originally built as a fishing boat in Thorne, Yorkshire in 1957. the ship was rebuilt as a sailing barkentine between 1993 and 1997.
Dining The ship has its own restaurant where all meals are served.
Entertainment There is a bar onboard that can cater for 80 people.
